Ergonomics in the Office

Audience: The primary learners of this course are office bound employees ranging in age from early 20s to mid 50s with at least a high diploma who will be using computers the majority of their work day

Problem: Too many employees are suffering injuries due to a lack of ergonomic awareness and/or care leading to decreased productivity and increased absenteeism.

Solution: After taking this course, the business will experience an increase in personnel attendance through the reduction of work injuries which will result in increased productivity.

Highlights: This course includes triggers, a variety of interactions, knowledge checks, a final assessment, voice over narration and a scenario with scripted audio

Process: The development of this e-Learning course for a mortgage company began with a needs analysis with challenges identified with SMEs and approved learning goals developed based upon the desired outcome of the client. The course was created based upon a detailed design document which then led to the creativity of the storyboard that included client branded identifiers. After the completion of the training, the results would be evaluated through:

Kirkpatrick's Level 2 evaluation: Assessment containing 5 questions requiring a minimum passing score of 80% to pass. These questions are designed to check that the three Terminal Learning Objectives have been achieved. The learner will be able to retake the quiz until the passing threshold is achieved. Additionally, there is an ungraded knowledge check included with a maximum of two attempts possible before the answer will be restated and the learner will be able to move forward in the course.
Kirkpatrick's Level 3 evaluation: Management will assess 3 months after training for increased productivity and decreased absenteeism as well as the occurrence of workplace injuries.

Fast Track Efficiency

Audience: Employees who take and fulfill customers’ orders, typically young adults with a high school diploma

Problem: Customer service satisfaction surveys indicate that customers are dissatisfied with employee performance.

Solution: After this course, the business will see an improvement in customer satisfaction resulting in increased sales.

Process: This e-learning course was developed for a fictional fast food restaurant and began with a needs analysis developed with SMEs to identify the reasons for such low customer satisfaction surveys. Upon completion of the needs analysis, learning goals were developed and a design document was crafted which includes multiple categories of needed improvement. This learning has no narration and includes scenario based questions in the final assessment. In evaluating the results of the training following is used:

Kirkpatrick's Level 2 of evaluation: This training course will culminate in an end of course graded quiz containing five scenario based multiple choice questions. The learner will need to score an 80% to pass and will have unlimited attempts to do so. In addition, there is a knowledge check question at the end of each of the three sections in various formats- true/false, yes/no, and matching. The knowledge checks are ungraded.
Kirkpatrick's Level 3 of evaluation: Management will review customer satisfaction based on survey results one month after completing the e-learning.
